Contursi Terme

Situated on a volcanic mountain, Monte di Pruno, Contursi dominates Tanagro valley and Alburni Mountains.

The town has a circular shape since the houses were built around the castle. The thermal baths are very well equipped and organized. There are many different kinds of water: sulphurous, lithic, alkaline, etc. They are suitable for baths, massages, aerosol therapy. They were already known in Roman times.

Landscapes are really interesting; there are nice itineraries on Monte di Pruno and along Sele River.

Nostra Signora delle Grazie Church is very interesting: it is situated on the upper part of the town. Now it’s dedicated to Our Lady and there is an altar dedicated to S. Filomena (S. Filomena, a martyr, saved the town from the plague in 1656).

Contursi Terme Prize (summer) is very nice, during this event there is music entertainment, shows and fashion parades.
